breast uplift and implants

Breast implants with uplifting

A breast implant and uplift operation is also called an augmentation mastopexy, and there are a few ways of doing this. What is best for you is something that we can discuss at a consultation but the options are:
- You can have breast implants only
- You can have an uplift only
- You can have implants inserted with a minor nipple lift
- You can have a full uplift with implants inserted.

If you only have implants or only have an uplift, you can still have a lift or implants inserted at another time, and some women and surgeons decide together that this is the safest thing for them. The implants we use can be round or teardrop shaped.

You should be aware that the risks of an augmentation mastopexy are a lot higher than the risks of an augmentation alone and a mastopexy alone. For this reason we sometimes do a mastopexy first and then 6 months later we put in implants.

You can see that before the procedure, the nipples and the breasts were pointing downwards, there was a low take-off of the breast (in other words, the chest was flat until just above the nipple), and there was poor development of the lower pole of the breast. After surgery, the breast starts to take off at a much higher level, the nipples are pointing forwards and the lower pole is far more filled.

In this case, we used 360cc implants over the muscle, and lifted both the breast and the nipple using a standard technique of lifting the breast with a full mastopexy where scars are placed around the nipple and go downwards from the nipple to the breast crease and outwards towards the armpit.
