La Belle Forme offers advanced laser tattoo removal treatment in Kent at our Sevenoaks Clinic.

Laser tattoo removal is a procedure where we remove or significantly fade your unwanted tattoo using cutting edge laser technology. There are several different techniques for tattoo removal but most of the other methods involve damaging your skin to some degree. Laser passes through your skin and brakes down the ink itself into smaller pieces which can be easily absorbed by your body.

What laser do you use?

We use an advanced Fotona QX MAX high-performance single-pulse laser. This system uses a vastly more efficient technology than traditional lasers, allowing us to target a much wider spectrum of tattoo colours. Problematic colours like greens and blues can also be successfully treated by this laser.

Is it dangerous?

Laser treatments are very safe when the system is operated by a trained professional and the proper eye protection is used. The highly experienced staff at our Kent Clinic will ensure you are in good hands.

How long does the treatment take and how many sessions do I need?

Our Sevenoaks clinic offers tattoo removal in Kent

Each treatment can last anywhere between 5 and 3o minutes, depending on the size of the area treated, the colour of the tattoo and your skin sensitivity. The number of required sessions is highly dependent on the colour of the tattoo needed to be removed, usually between 4 and 12 treatments are sufficient. It also depends on whether you are looking to completely remove the tattoo or just want to fade it before a cover-up tattoo.

Will the tattoo completely disappear?

We can usually fade it to a degree where most clients are happy with the results, however, there are no guarantees. The success of the treatment depends on a lot of factors, including your skin type, your healing ability, the type of ink used, the amount of ink used, the ink application method, the colour of the ink and other factors. If your tattoo was done my a professional, it usually means that the ink is applied more deeply in the skin and it often contains more details and/or more colours. If this is the case, more sessions may be needed.

Is the treatment painful?

The laser will cause discomfort but most people tolerate it without the use of anaesthetics. It also depends on the area treated, usually if the creation of the tattoo was more painful on the body part, the laser treatment will be more uncomfortable as well.

What are the possible side effects?

We use an advanced laser designed for tattoo removal so long-term side effects are rare. There is about 5% chance of scarring but we always perform the treatment on a small test area first. Most of the other side effects are temporary, like redness and swelling of the treated area. The chance of infection is always higher after a laser session so it is important to maintain a high level of hygiene. There is also a chance for loss of skin colour (hypopigmentation) or the darkening of the skin (hyperpigmentation) around the treated area. These are normally temporary conditions and should resolve within 6 – 12 weeks.
